1984 Porsche 911 Cabriolet (Race Car)

Fresh to te Market

This 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet is a modified race car that was acquired by the current owner in 1996 and used in Club Racing events with the Porsche Club of America and the National Auto Sport Association. The car has been fitted with an aftermarket front bumper, splitter, and whale tail spoiler and is finished in metallic blue. The stripped cockpit features a roll cage with door bars along with a single OMP racing seat, a four-point harness, and a MOMO steering wheel. Power comes from a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and further equipment includes a custom exhaust system, Bilstein rear shocks, and 16″ Fuchs-style wheels. This 911 Carrera Cabriolet Race car is now offered on dealer consignment with an accident-free Carfax report and a New York State title.

The car was fitted with an aftermarket front bumper and splitter as well as a whale tail spoiler and repainted in its current metallic blue finish under current ownership. The headlamps and turn signals have been replaced with yellow panels, and the body wears various yellow accents along with racing numbers and decals. Front and rear tow hooks have been added, and the soft top and side windows have been removed. Scuffs, dents, and dings are present around the body.

The 16” Fuchs-style alloy wheels feature yellow centers with anodized lips and are mounted with Hoosier slicks. The car is equipped with rear Bilstein shocks along with front and rear sway bars. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with custom front air ducts. The braking system is said to have been flushed and bled in June 2021.

The stripped cockpit houses a single OMP racing seat with a four-point harness as well as a roll cage with door bars. Side mirrors are affixed to the cage, and a fire extinguisher is mounted to the right of the shifter.

The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a rotated 8k-rpm tachometer, a 170-mph speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 129k miles. A June 2009 mileage inconsistency is listed on the Carfax report, which notes that it may be a result of a “clerical error.”

The 3.2-liter flat-six features mechanical fuel injection and sends power to the rear wheels through a 915 five-speed manual transaxle. The oil cooler is said to have been replaced in June 2021, and an oil change was also performed at that time.

A custom exhaust system has been installed, and additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Texas and New York from the first entry in April 1988 to the most recent entry in June 2009.
